BLUE AND GOLD DINNER & CELEBRATION

Blue and gold are the colors of Cub Scouting.  Blue stands for truth & spirituality, steadfast loyalty, and the sky above. Gold stands for warm sunlight, good cheer, and happiness. The Blue and Gold dinner is a celebration of the monumental accomplishments that these children achieve.

We strongly encourage all family members to attend the celebration. They work extremely hard and deserve the attention of their role models. They should be praised and acknowledged for the very special people they are.

The Blue and Gold Celebration is a dinner with various important presentations and ceremonies. We often have a cake decorating contest during this event, the eating of which makes for a grand finale to the dinner! The leaders and parent volunteers, with help from the local Boy Scout Troop, as well as Scout Council members, provide a very memorable night.

We may also have Summer Camp and Friends of Scouting presentations during the Blue & Gold. Past celebrations have included slideshows showcasing the graduating Webelos' years of Cub Scouting. During some years, the Rank Badge ceremony for 1st through 4th year scouts may be performed at the Spring Cookout.

Rank Badge Ceremony

This is for Scouts who have earned their Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Rank Badge.  Scouts are called up individually, and their Den Leader gives their Rank Badge to their parent or guardian for their Scout's uniform.

Arrow of Light Ceremony
If Webelo Scouts earn the Arrow of Light, the highest honor that a Cub Scout may earn, they will be recognized at the finale of the Rank Badge Ceremony. These Scouts will be brought in front of the guests, with their parent or guardian, and their Arrow of Light will be presented to each Scout one at a time. The Order Of The Arrow may attend to give a unique presentation to mark the occasion.

Crossing Over Ceremony
If any Scouts are "crossing over" to join the ranks of the Boy Scouts, they will have a special ceremony after all the Rank Badges and Arrows of Light have been handed out. The Den Flag for the Den that Crosses Over is presented to the Den Leader. This ceremony may involve an actual bridge.
