Cub Scout Pack 117 - Belton, Texas

Welcome to the web page for Cub Scout Pack 117 from Belton, Texas!!  Our pack IS participating in Family Scouting.  This means we are accepting both boys and girls into our Pack.  Pack 117 will hold co-ed pack events (camping, hiking, monthly pack meetings) but the dens will be either all girl or all boy.  For more information regarding the Boy Scouts of America's Family Scouting program please visit: BSA Family Scouting Information

Purpose of the Pack

Pack 117, and the Cub Scouts organization in general, provide a fun environment for boys and girls to achieve the aims of scouting:

- Character development

- Citizenship training

- Personal fitness

Even more importantly, the pack contributes to a child's sense of belonging through friendships with other boys and girls who share an interest in scouting. The Cub Scout organization teaches boys and girls valuable lessons, as outlined in the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and the Cub Scout Motto. To read about these, visit the link "Promise and Law".

What the Pack Does

Each den in Pack 117 meets every week during the school year, with one meeting per month reserved for the overall pack meeting (3rd Thursday of the month). For those who are not as familiar with the Cub Scout level terminology, a pack is made up of several dens, and each den represents boys or girls of a certain age / grade level group. See "Cub Scout Ranks" link for more details.

In the individual den meetings, the leaders take the scouts through a learning unit, usually capped with some type of craft or activity. The scout can complete the units and activities to earn belt loops, pins, patches, and awards.

In addition to weekly den meetings, the dens or the entire pack get together about once a month for some really fun activities. Here are some of the things the pack has done in the past or will be doing this year:
